CONTEST GUIDELINES:

1. OBJECT : You must safeguard the 4 Totems against the Beast to prevent him from blacking out the sun and causing all Hell to break loose. For every Challenge (4 - a new one each week) a Guide will assist you in your task. Once the task is completed correctly, the Totem will be revealed with the key to unlock the next challenge. Collect the names of all 4 Totems to submit with your entry form during week four to win.
   
   
   
2. BEGIN: Start on the Main Contest page with the first Challenge.
   
   • Each week a New Challenge will be presented. You must complete each challenge to discover the Totem.

Challenges:

Week 1 - Aug. 11th ~ Challenge: Wesley has uncovered a passage in Lilah's book, but they need your help to translate the text and reveal the Totem's identity.

Task: The player must use a Cryptogram (or code, where one set of letters is substituted for another) to translate the text. The code is revealed by answering questions with corresponding letter spaces to the decoded answer. If the code is entered incorrectly, Lilah delivers a chilling insult to the player. Once the sentence with the correct Totem's name is entered, the Totem's name will be revealed on the screen as the answer to the challenge.

Example: The name of this TV show is 26-11-47-13-0.
26 11 47 13 0 = ANGEL (no hyphens required)
Based on this answer A=26, N=11, G=47, E=13, and L=0
These letters can now be used to replace other corresponding numbers.

Week 2 - Aug. 18th ~ Challenge: Word on the street is that one of the Totems is hiding out in a bar on the seedy side of L.A. This ain't no Caritas! Your help is needed to figure out which of the bar's patrons is in fact the disguised Totem and bring it to safety.

Task: The player must determine which of the bar's patrons is the Totem based on their answers to questions. A series of three (3) predetermined questions will appear on the screen with each patron's answer. The player will have to select which set of answers would most likely come from the Totem and click on that patron. If the player chooses incorrectly, Fred and Gunn fret amongst themselves and the player to must try again. If the player chooses correctly, the patron's true identity will be revealed as the answer to the challenge.

Week 3 - Aug. 25th ~ Challenge: The player must open Gwen's vault to retrieve the Totem and bring it to safety.

Task: The player must figure out the numerical answers to a series of five (5) questions and enter them in sequence to open the vault. If the numbers are entered incorrectly, the vault spins, but does not open and warning lights flash, then return to the beginning question. Once the numbers are entered correctly, the vault spins open and reveals the Totem's name as the answer to the challenge.

Week 4 - Sept. 1st ~ Challenge: Faith may be the Slayer, but she still needs help to take out the Beast! You must fight the Beast's minions to save the Totem!

Task: The player must beat the Beast's minions in an interactive game of combat. If the Beast wins, the sun is obliterated, the lights go out and the blood-red eyes of the Beast dominate the city. If the Beast is defeated the Totem's name appears, along with a link to the entry form.

• Each week a new Challenge will be posted on the Main Contest Page.

• There are a total of four (4) Totems.

1. FIND: There are Four (4) Mystical Totems.
   
   • Each week the completed Challange will reveal a new Totem.
   
   • Gather all Four Totems and place them on the Submission Form during the final week of the Contest in their correct order of discovery.
   
   
   
2. ENTER: Contest will open on Monday August 11th, 2003 and will close at 8:00pm EST on Friday September 5th, 2003. This Contest will run for four (4) weeks. Each week, beginning on Mondays, a new Challenge will be posted on the Summer Contest Series Main page. You will have the remainder of each week to complete the task and discover the Totem. The Entry Form will be open during the Final Clue week, Sept. 1-5th. Winners will be announced on the SCS Main Page at 8:00pm EST on Monday September 8th, 2003.
   
   • The last Challenge will lead you to the Submission Form and allow you to enter any time during the final week of the contest.
   
   • The Submission Form with your answers (and personal information) is your official entry.
