icture the scene, a beautiful sunny day, a dark room, a hundred or so people drinking and waiting and you have it: quite an appropriate musical gathering spot known as TJ's. This was what myself and a bevy of CoA Citizens: Andrea, Sue, Sonia, and her friend Ceri, as well as the other attendees experienced on the 16th of June as we sauntered up to Newport, here in the UK.
THE GHOST ON TOUR
Ghost of the Robot, Kevin, Charlie, Aaron, Steve, and James

What were we waiting for you ask? I'll tell you, Ghost of the Robot, the band made up of Aaron Anderson on drums, Kevin McPherson on bass guitar, Steven Sellers on keyboard and Charlie DeMars, the founding member on lead guitar, and our very own James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Spike) on lead vocals.
Just prior to this event, one of our CoA Citizens went to see the band at their Highbury Garage performance in London on Saturday, the 14th. "They were awesome," recalls Simmy who hails from Bury St. Edmunds. "They really did work the crowd, and although they are fronted by James, the whole band were excellent and played to the crowd.
I was right at the front dead centre in front of James who was brilliant; he was funny and joked around in between songs. Steve came out at the end of the performance and chatted with fans and signed a few things which was really cool." Simmy also managed to get Steve in a photo op with his mates. "All in all I had a great time, and I do hope the band does more albums and more gigs 'cause the music is wicked."
Courtesy of the opening band and glimpses of James and Charlie from an upstairs window prior to the show, the crowed was hyped and the place was buzzing. After a lot, and I mean a lot, of sweating (that place was hot!) the band arrived. There they were in all their glory, mounting the stage to the tune of rapturous applause.
On stage at Newport, fans experience the machine at TJ's!

The boys wasted no time in getting in to the swing of things by starting their set with a blazing performance of "Liar" followed by the title track of their new album, Mad Brilliant. The crowd loved it, the boys loved it, and the night was really getting going! With their unique driving sound and edgy lyrics to match their energy on stage, the band showed no signs of slowing down their pace of true, raw, adrenaline driven entertainment.
They continued with tracks old and new, one in particular titled "Katie" certainly struck a chord, along with the music we had James treating us to chat's between songs -- marvelling on our stamina and enthusiasm based on the previously mentioned temperature of the club, along with shameless but well deserved plugging for their merchandise!
James is no shy-guy on stage as he goes full throttle for the fans

The set ended with a rocking performance of "German. Jewish", but would we let them get away with just walking off the stage? Never! There were cheers and screams for encore and the boy's relented by again gracing us with their presence for their final track, "Vehicles Shock Me" which rounded off the evening perfectly.
All in all the night was a roaring success, the fans had a great time and the band is well on their way to great European tour. Ghost of the Robot is already a sell-out success as they perform in Europe this month. Fans can see the band perform songs from their debut album at The Liquid Room in Edinburgh, Scotland on Monday, June 23rd - tickets can be purchased from Ticket Scotland +44(0) 131 220 3234 - Don't miss the tour's final concert date at The Scala in London, England on Wednesday, June 25th.
