Like Christian Kane, who played Lindsey on ANGEL during seasons one and two, Jeremy is balancing his acting and music careers. An avid musician, he is currently recording songs for his first album, "I just finished up a song, it's a ballad," he said. He is also working with his friend Jeff Russo, the lead guitarist for Tonic, "he's recording stuff with me, so it's turning out really good." He describes the music he plays as, "kind of like Lenny Kravitz, Zeppelin, Black Crows, Beatles, it's very melodic but soulful, very soulful." Balance is the key for Jeremy, he explained, "I'm definitely balancing, always. I'm always a victim of circumstance. If someone threw a suitcase of money in my lap and said, 'hey you want to tour for a little bit?' I might tour for like six months." Still, through music he is able to escape and feel something he can't in any other way. "I do music because I can just pick up my guitar and sing, and completely satisfy, instant gratification. I don't need a script, I don't people, I don't need anything, cameras, I just have myself and my guitar, or keyboard." For the moment he is concentrating on his music, "I'm just writing music, focusing on one. I burn the candles on both ends a lot of times, and I'll get half a song written, and a script written all crappy, so I gotta focus on one. I get a lot more accomplished that way," he confessed.
Creativity is a key factor in Jeremy's life. Whether he is writing music, scripts, or acting, it is always about expressing his imagination. "For me, it doesn't matter. As long as I'm creative I don't care. Acting becomes acting, it's just a job, and that's what it is, and that's what I love to do, but I'm not sitting around waiting for something to happen. I like to stay busy, I like to stay focused, and I like to stay creative. Without being creative I'd be dead".
"That immediate exchange is crack, it's addictive, that live, pulsating it's a live thing and nothing can stop it"
He is always trying new things because he is motivated by adrenaline. "I live my life through fear. If I'm afraid of it I'll do it just so I'm not afraid of it anymore. So I do a lot things. I pick them up pretty quickly so that's why I enjoy a lot of things. Sports, I get way too involved in sports and doing too many damn things. It's nice to have that release," he explained.
With all of his projects and interests, Jeremy Renner has a very promising and exciting future ahead of him. With his versatile acting ability and intense desire for creativity, he will undoubtedly continue to storm the industry. Ultimately, all Jeremy hopes for in the future is to have fun and live life to its fullest. As he said, life is all about enjoyment, "If nothing changed from now I wouldn't be complaining. As long as I'm doing the things I like to do."
