Less watching - more singing!!

*** CoA Awards ***
It wouldn’t be an event worth capturing if we didn’t award a few of these outstanding moments, so Raciella and myself tossed these into the air for fun and truth!

MAN OF THE HOUR AWARD:
Joss Whedon
: “Angel, he’s so handsome! He’s so cool, I wish I could be like him! I’m extremely happy this season on both shows. I think they’re coming together in a huge way. They just seem to know what they’re about which last season we struggled with a little bit. And next season it’s already storming, we’re molding it, it’s extraordinary. It’s taking shape! Well, we’re not stopping!”

EMOTIONAL OUTPOURING AWARD:
TaraAnyaKate4eva, a Bronzer, wins this award! She brought Amber Benson to tears when she thanked her for ‘changing her life for the better’ with her strong and positive performance as Tara. It was so overwhelming for Amber that she had to disappear for a few minutes to recompose herself but these are the kind of moments when you realize what you do really does have a positive influence on your fans! What a rewarding experience for them both!

TALLER THAN YOU THINK:
Stephanie Romanov
!! Gorgeous too! And who was having way too much fun! Stephanie Romanov: “How much? Oh a ton of fun because what I like about it is she’s evil but she’s funny!” (laugh) “So as an actress she’s really fun to play because you’re playing opposites a lot. And the cast is great so I love going to work. Christian and I have so much fun playing off each other because it’s so combative but it makes it so interesting.”

SHORTER THAN YOU THINK:
Clare Kramer
, who, not withstanding beauty, loves playing Glory for therapeutic reason of course! Clare Kramer: “Not only is the rest of the cast and the crew and everything about the show incredible, the part I play allows me to express all my repressed anger. (laugh) So I think that’s the best part about playing my character. I’m pretty happy in the rest of my life because I get out all my aggression at work, and I don’t get arrested!” (laugh)

BEST COMMENT:
James Marsters
, who after I asked for a comment declined to save his voice for singing later immediately changed his mind and opted to whispered into the recorder so as not to disappoint anyone! Does he rawk or what! Although no one in the crowd could understand what we were doing hunched over and huddled together, but hey, cheek-to-cheek with James, I’m not complaining, someone has to do this job! Damn! James Marsters: “Right now baby, I’m trying to save my voice. I’ll whisper it, I’ll whisper ... I’m having more fun than I’ve ever had in my life! I had Buffy in chains, Dru in ropes and Harmony half naked, all within the same scene!”

BEAUTY QUEEN:
Mere Smith looked exquisite in a floor length red-red gown and matching lips that couldn't stop smiling all night as she greeted everyone that came up to her. She had an up do with a thin diamond head band and matching necklace that sparkled with what little light there was inside the semi-dark American Legion. The coup was the backless red dress. Each time she walked she seemed to float, but she never faltered, glowing through the night! It only took two pics to get the perfect one. (I hear every one of the CoA girls are searching for a dress as fetching as Mere's!)

We ran into a Bronzer that we met down in Atlanta at the Dragon*Con, this past summer. Iris: “I’m just having a great time this year! I came last year and it was weird because I wasn’t posting that much then and so now I know more people and I’m getting to meet more and see more faces with the people, so it’s a lot of fun. It’s more relaxed this year for me. It’s just great. I’m looking forward to seeing just about anybody who comes I think. “Any VIP’s in particular you’d like to see?” Not one in particular, uh ah because a lot of them came last year so that was nice. I don’t think Eliza Dushku would come but I would like to see her or James Marsters!” “A Faith and Spike fan!” “Yeah, definitely!” As the party got underway, Anthony Stewart Head came on stage and tore up the place as he sang several songs, he got the crowd into the groove with his favorite Watcher hits and everyone had that look of amazement as they realized he sings as great as he really does sound! “Oh my, Giles can sing!” After a short break, Andy Hallett, without green demon and horny make-up, appeared on stage and belted out his kick ass rendition of his now famous Patti LaBella classic Lady Marmalade! And oh my, can that boy hit a high note! The place went wild! Not only was the audience taken aback by his incredible voice but they finally got to see what this handsome - and I mean handsome - guy looks like!

"Thank you so much!"

Soon it was time to gather the VIP’s and the entire cast and crew on hand got up on stage as Blade, the evenings host of the PBP Committee did his best to give everyone deserved credit on a job well done for a year long effort to bring this annual event into being! Certainly the best year ever! They did an exceptional job and with the help of all Bronzers and B/A fans presented a check for $12,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation on behalf of the series! Joss Whedon stepped forward to give his deepest thanks and support for the fans that mean so much to all of them. He reflected on the season, the viewers and was excited to share its new additions of James Marsters and Michelle Trachtenberg who got a roaring applause! Michelle was so overwhelmed as she mouthed to the crowd, ‘Oh my God, Thank you so much!’ Joss also announced not only exciting plans for next year for both shows but that Marti Noxon would be joining him in the position as Executive Producer to more thunderous applause!

Joss Whedon: [on stage speech in full] “Last year, I made a little speech. Everybody screamed a lot. It was really cool. (laughter) So I took that mike again but I didn’t have that much to say, but I’m sure I can think of something. And actually, okay, I guess the thing that I’m gonna say is about family. We’ve been doing this for four years now. Four years ago we went to Planet Hollywood to meet with about 50 people who thought our show was cool. (cheering) and that represented about a third of our viewers, (laughter) so is was a beautiful thing for all of us! And since then, every year you guys have been coming out, you guys have been raising money for a wonderful cause. You guys, you guys in particular [Joss points to the PBP Committee] have been organizing an extraordinary event that makes us feel comfortable and loved and appreciated and overwhelmed. (laughter) It is, it’s a big family thing and it keeps on growing here with our new cast members, bringing James in! (cheering) And clearly you didn’t like that idea, sorry. (laughter) Bringing Michelle in, (louder cheering) and so many of our regulars and semi-regulars and everybody. And it’s just gonna keep-on-going! (more cheering) None of knows where it’s gonna go but it is gonna keep going! Next year, we’ve already got an enormous amount of stuff planned out. (cheering) Next year, I’m going to be executive producer and with me, Marti Noxon is going to be executive Producer as well! (wicked amount of cheering) This is in fact, my family. These are the only people who will talk to me. I am, I like to think, the abusive, alcoholic father of each and every one of you! (cheering) and I love you! Thank you very much! (applause and cheers)

Seeker - We caught you!!

Some amazing highlights of the entire evening were how accessible all the VIP’s allowed themselves and how gracious everyone was, from the VIPs to the fans, to the Committee bending over backwards to take care of everyone’s needs! The VIP’s were truly ecstatic just to be there, meet the fans and accept the so well deserved praise for all their outstanding performance whether it be in front of or behind the camera! This is one event where the fans get to cheer on everyone and it’s amazing to watch! Another fan crossed our path, Claris: “We’re at the Posting Board Party so that we can mock all the VIP’s that come! (laugh) And I am a CityofAngel Citizen, thank you very much, because they are the best! There’s nothing – you guys have everything on there. I was shocked the first time -- I was like, ‘Look at them, they have their ...’ you probably can’t put this but, ‘ ... they have their shit down!’ ” (laugh) Ha! We can put anything we like,  Claris! Thanks for the props! Other highlights included Bronzer Seeker caught on the dance floor doing the Snoopy Dance!

Mere, Queen of the PBP

Amber Benson who was just so amazingly sweet! When she attended last year, just new to the show, she arrived with Alyson Hannigan who was immediately swamped by fans. Amber quietly stood to the side until Bronzer ABpositive spoke to her saying, ‘Amber, next year, that’ll be you dear!’ And oh how true it was! Amber Benson: “It’s really awesome. Alyson [Hannigan] and I – our relationship on the show just keeps getting better and better and that’s what’s so exciting to me about working on Buffy. That we get to explore that kind of stuff.” Amber had quite a gathering and she was so sweet and happy to talk with everyone. Mere Smith in the killer red dress!!! Glorificous who??? She was knocking them dead!! Who needs to be a God? You just need the bod and look that Mere has! Mere Smith: “This is fantastic! I’m a little rushed because I was late and I drove like 90 miles an hour to get here and poor CCool and Gypsy Rat, I nearly killed them in my car like 8 times but we got here. For now I’m just scoping everything out. (laugh) I’m so inarticulate right now!” “Looking forward to the back half of Angel?” “Oh yeah, absolutely. And you should be too! Wahhh it’s so good!” And Clare Kramer was blown away by all the attention she got, and oh so sweet she was, and also the knockout she is on TV!
