Delving into the inner workings of this season's Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel

A Spotlight on the Fans

Their Thoughts on ANGEL

Bronzers Clover, slay_me, and Iris

We took a break to seek out a few Bronzers and get their opinions and thoughts about this season of Angel and look who we found! A native Georgian herself, ‘slay_me’, and from Texas ‘Iris’ and her sister ‘Clover’. We started off with Iris (the shy one) and asked her what she liked most about this first season of Angel. "One of the things that I really like about the show is the way that the characters play off of one another. I think they have great chemistry. I like how they have expanded. You get to see more into their lives. And it's a good chance for them to show what they can do with their characters. And I think I saw that pretty much in the Finale." Iris continues, "I like the Finale because you get to see that Angel doesn't need ‘life’, but he does need people in his life. And they got to show that - his caring for everybody. I can't wait for next season! I’m so excited to see what they’re going to do!" Clover agrees that, since
I was very
hesitant at first. I
thought, ‘Oh God,
a spin-off. What’s
he doing??’ But
after the first
episode I was
hooked!
leaving Buffy, Angel and Cordy have come into their own, "One of the best things I liked about Angel this season was it really gave David (Boreanaz) and Charisma (Carpenter) a chance to shine. The two of them have just been unbelievable this season! Probably my favorite episodes have been with Eliza (Drushku). Eliza has done such an excellent job on the show. I loved "Five by Five" and "Sanctuary."

We ended with slay_me telling what her first thoughts were on hearing there would be an Angel series. "I started watching [Angel] because Joss (Whedon) did it. I was very hesitant at first. I thought, ‘Oh God, a spin-off. What’s he doing??’ But after the first episode I was hooked! Again, it's a chance for David and Charisma to just completely go against their constrictive roles and just be amazing. And then, of course, when Wesley came I was like, ‘Oh God, get Wesley off!’ But after a few episodes he stopped whining. (laughter) The chemistry they have is unbelievable. The family unit they form is something you’re invested in because you already know the three characters and you want to see them succeed." With a series like Buffy looming over its head, it’s the differences that make it unique as well. "One thing I like about Angel is you don't always get that happy-sappy ending at the end. Like in ‘I've Got You Under My Skin’, there was no resolution whatsoever in that! There were a couple other episodes like that where it leaves things open-ended," and she adds, "it gives you something to come back to. I like where it’s going, what they’re doing. I like that they're such a strong unit together and they know that, and they know that they can’t do it alone. I’m just watching Angel to see where it goes. I have no idea where it will."
